Faculty earn individual research seed grants

Three College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences faculty members have received 2007 Individual Research Seed Grants from the South Dakota Board of Regents.
Ying Fang, assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Science and Center for Infectious Disease Research and Vaccinology, will research antigenic characterization of bovine viral diarrhea virus in relation to development of improved diagnostic tests for detection and differentiation type 1 and 2 viruses.
Philip Hardwidge, assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Science and Center for Infectious Disease Research
and Vaccinology, will research discovery and characterization of novel ETEC antigens for human vaccine development.
Alan Young, associate professor in the Department of Biology and Microbiology, will research circulating nucleic acids derived from follicular dendritic cells as a diagnostic market for scrapies.
